Therapeutic Frameworks

We pride ourselves on integrating evidence-based modalities that follow NICE Guidance with a healthy dose of creativity and clinical intuition.

Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM)

A conversational, practical, and collaborative approach that focuses on improving eating patterns, nutritional restoration, and overall wellbeing, whilst addressing current life issues.

Enhanced Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E)

A structured, goal-focused approach that focuses on changing cycles of thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviours related to food, eating, and/or body image.

Maudsley Model of Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA)

A reflective, insight-based approach that focuses on specific maintaining factors, such as perfectionism, anxiety, rigid thinking, emotional avoidance, and relationships.

Focal Psychodynamic Therapy (FPT)

A relational and exploratory approach that focuses on understanding how past experiences, emotions, and interpersonal patterns contribute to the eating disorder.

We also offer systemically-informed parent, carer, or patner-inclusive sessions where appropriate and with consent.

We understand what an important role parents and partners can play in an individual’s recovery and plan this carefully on assessment. For example, offering weekly check in calls, joint therapy sessions, or attending Individual Care Review (ICR) meetings.

There is no one best approach to treating eating disorders.

We create a personalised care plan based on your initial dietetic and psychological assessment.

This then informs how we can best adapt treatment to your individual needs and preferences.

We always aim to work in a trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming way.
